Win Some Art for Your Bare Naked Walls

art prints

Sometimes we all take 5 years to decide what to put on our walls. In our case, we live in a crappy rental house and didn’t really want to bother putting anything up. Despite our glamorous minimalistic tendencies, we eventually grew tired of the blankness surrounding us and put some art up. Mostly things we made ourselves.

Since not everyone dabbles in art-making, there are cool sites out there that sell art prints you can buy to hang on your walls. Isn’t this fantastic? Do not buy art from Ikea. You can buy art prints made by artists, you can frame them, or have them framed, and you can stare at them all day long.

Here are some of my favorites from poking around Minted, and I would like to officially invite you to enter a little giveaway I’m holding.

Mineral 03 Art Print by Lily Hanna

Something neat is that you can see what the prints look like in different frames before you order. Look at what a big difference it makes to see this print in the dark Indigo frame as opposed to the French farmhouse frame:

Okay, that was fun. I’m available if you want to fly me out to decide on what art you need for your walls. All I ask is that you feed me and give me wine and play Yahtzee with me while I’m there.

For one short week, I am giving away 1 $100 gift to Minted and 2 $50 gifts to Minted. Yay! I can’t stop holding giveaways because free cool stuff is the best, is it not!?

Go look at what they have, then come on back and enter to win.

  1. I can’t say I have cool art on my walls but I have stuff I like. Most of it is animal/nature inspired. I do have one piece of cool art but I have no more room. It’s time to mix things up. As for, I would love some unique Christmas cards.

  2. We are working on our walls now. We just moved into our new home and really want to take advantage of the high ceiling in the living room. That first picture you feature- Mineral 03, framed in Natural wood is gorgeous!

  3. We’re working on the “cool art” thing… We’ve some pieces I LOVE and some that are pretty blah… This would be a great way to get some more “WOW!”

  4. If Frida Kahlo on two walls, Dia de los Muertos on another, and the Beatles on a fourth – yes, I think I have cool art on my walls. 🙂

  5. Not so much cool art on our walls, though I’m slowly trying to work on that. I have some paintings by my grandma (a fabulous artist) that need framed. And I have a few things I made myself, actually, with scrapbook paper and repurposed frames. But some of the pieces I saw on Minted are just dreamy!

  6. Nothing “Cool” on our walls either! I do have some lovelies in my craft room made by my kids and my nephews though!
Our living room could really use some pretty art!!

  7. I mostly have pics of the kids however I do have pottery tiles and paintings from the kids up as well and its all cool art work?. I keep dreaming of adding some other stuff to my walls but just never look long enough to find something worthy.

  8. Oh. My. Goodness. Jeanette, the Minted site is incredible! I have such a heartfelt appreciation for beautiful things. Joyous is the day that I could hang some of those lovelies on my walls. Already have 15 favorites and 4 in my shopping cart. Thank you for the chance to win. 🙂

  9. I have some things we’ve painted ourselves, but I’ve got a big blank space I’d love to fill with something wonderful.

  10. My artwork is mostly paintings done by my Dad. Oils and watercolors. And then my crosstitch and zentangle stuff too! Most of Dad’s things are well over 50 years — some closer to 80 (he’d have turned 109 this year!). Love art, love color, love creativity!

  11. Cool art? I don’t even have cool walls (70’s wood paneling went out in…well, the 70’s). Hope you like gluten-free brownies, white wine and I’ll play Yahtzee if you teach me! I think Minted is amazing as well.

  12. I have some cool art that I have made 🙂 And I would love to have more original pieces, but just don’t have the budget at this time. Minted is a great option! So many on-trend pieces and good prices!

  13. I have a photo of my daughter and me at a children’d museum, which was published in the L.A. Times.

  14. I do have cool art on (some of) my walls! I frame old maps, old family photos, some pieces I’ve made myself (collage), enlarged crazy pics of my kids, an upside down super enlarged pic of a cake (in my dining room), and even ‘normal’ paintings my artist sister made for me. But… I still have room for more! Loved everything I saw on Minted!

  15. Very little ‘cool’ art on my walls. Just family photos, two giant mirrors left by the previous owners, and one pretty hand-made creation by my youngest grand-daughter. I’d love to win one of the Mint certificates. I haven’t finished looking at everything they offer, but I have 39 favorites already! Thanks for running this contest.

  16. I have some cool art…but definitely not as cool as on Minted. I do have IKEA art as well…trying to get some more polished pieces so I can weed out the old stuff 😉

  17. I have some cool art, but there are pieces that I wouldn’t mind retiring. There are so many beautiful choices on Minted! I’ torn between something for the dining room or the children’s rooms…

  18. If I don’t win any art, I’m certain that dear Craftwhack will
suggest ways for me, a new follower, to make my own art
    to grace our walls. 🙂
I’m pretty sure our kitty calendar doesn’t count as cool art.

    • by the way, I have a lot of original artwork on my walls, some my own when I see something cool and think I want to try that. Some work I’ve bought from other artists. I also like family photos, like a cool shot I have of my mother as a baby with all her aunts around her dressed in their 40’s outfits.

  19. You picked some really great prints! I feel like I need to find the perfect art for the space, so I only have three things hanging in the whole house (one is from Minted!).

  20. We moved into our place 9 months ago and our walls are still pretty bare. I’d like one of each of Minted’s offerings to spruce them up a bit, please. 😀

  21. I love the variety of painting styles! I can imagine each one being displayed in a different part of the room!

  22. OMG I totally need some art for my Nanny’s quarters… oh crap… I don’t have a Nanny… wish I did though!

We actually have the barest of bare walls! We’ve been renovating our old house for almost five years, and in the beginning there was just no point hanging any art… but now we actually have some finished and even painted walls, they desperately need something… but I can’t decide what!

    • We do have some cool art courtesy my grandparents. A couple of giant Sergio Bustamante animal busts hang in our living room and we have a treasured oil painting of boats my grandmother painted.
