Oh, the sweetness! I have such a soft spot for independent toy designers, and when Olmoost caught my eye I immediately came running to share with you. These plush buddies are designed by UK-based Dutch designer Merike van de Vijver, and they are available for delivery anywhere in the world.
Merike has been working as an animator and model-maker since 1999, and has worked on Bob the Builder, Miffy and friends, and Rubbadubbers. Be sure to click through and watch examples of her stop-motion animations.
Her mobile (mobiel) is my very favorite product, consisting of a wooden cross from which 4 felt stars and a creature of your choice hang. The coolest part is that they are removable so you can hang them from different places (stroller -playpen – ). I had a mobile from Ikea for Beckett when he was a baby that he LOVED, so I clipped off the fuzzy animals and gave them to him when he outgrew his changing table. Don’t you love baby stuff that performs double duty?
She also makes versions of her toys with music boxes, squeakers or bells inside, and some wee ones for babies. Eep!
Those felt animals are adobable!!!
