Hey! Welcome to Artchoo!

Today I am delighted to be featured on not one, but two other sites. I feel rather like a superstar.

Site #1 is the amazing SITS, where all your bloggy dreams come true. Or at least you can learn a ton about blogging and interact with bloggers from all over the spectrum. I’ve attended two of their blogging conferences and I’m a fan for life. I’ve learned so much about blogging it hurts.

Site #2 is Noodles on the Wall, a site put together byΒ Elena Meulener Schloss, to spotlight creative moms. Awesome.

If you are visiting here for the very first time, here’s a quick lowdown: my site focuses on art and design for kids in the form of awesome projects, cool products, super artist features, and all sorts of whatever I can do to show how important art and design are to kids’ lives.

Would you like to connect elsewhere? Come find me on Pinterest, Facebook and Twitter, and leave me a message so I can follow you back!

Happy SITS day! I love your mission. I always wanted to be an art teacher but they cut funding here!

    • 11/08/2012 / 8:34 pm

Thank you! I wanted to be an art teacher at some point, too but then I realized I wasn’t patient enough. πŸ™‚

  2. 11/08/2012 / 6:02 am

What a great blog! So many wonderful ideas – my kids are all very artsy and sometimes get bored with day to day coloring and watercolors – I am certainly going to use a LOT of your ideas!!

    Happy SITS day!!

    • 11/08/2012 / 8:38 pm

Oh, I’m so glad! It’s fun to delve into different materials once in a while- especially with kids who haven’t dreamed of using some of the fun stuff that’s out there.

  3. 11/08/2012 / 6:14 am

Congrats on your SITS day! : — ) Looking forward to reading more!

    With love,
    Elizabeth Rinne

  4. Great approach and thought behind the concept of your blog… appreciate that fact. Kids are creative beings and you are so right about tapping deeply into that.

    Happy SITS Day, Jeanette!

    • 11/08/2012 / 8:46 pm

Thank you, Carlo- it’s a really important topic for me, (obviously) and I just hope I can inspire some people!

  5. 11/08/2012 / 7:20 am

Happy SITS Day! Congrats on being featured on Noodles on the Wall, too. Two features in one day is pretty awesome for sure! πŸ™‚

I love your site! You’ve got some great stuff here. You’ve just gained a stalker…I mean, fan. LOL πŸ™‚

I hope you have an amazing day!

    • 11/08/2012 / 8:49 pm

Oh, I love stalkers! You are welcome any time of the day or night here….. It was pretty fun to be a superstar for a day. Thanks for your comment; I appreciate it so much!

  6. 11/08/2012 / 7:22 am

Happy SITS day! πŸ™‚ Your blog is interesting. Love some of the ideas. For now I do simple things with my boys, as they are only 2 and 3 years old. As they get older I know it’s going to be even more fun. Just recently we made some hand traced Turkeys. πŸ˜‰

    • 11/08/2012 / 8:51 pm

Hand turkeys are classics. We’ve been doing plenty of those around here lately, too- It’s pretty fun to delve into the paint with 2 and 3 year olds…. just sayin’. But have a shower ready.

  9. 11/08/2012 / 7:54 am

Happy SITS Day! I do a lot of crafts with my daughter, but I need to do more with my students. We lost our art program due to budget cuts a few years back.

    • 11/08/2012 / 9:00 pm

It makes me sick to my stomach to hear when schools’ art departments are cut. WTH? I can’t even comprehend this thinking.

  10. 11/08/2012 / 8:00 am

I love art blogs! I used to teach preschool so we did art all the time, I was always looking for new projects to do. Happy SITS day, I hope you enjoy being featured!!

    • 11/08/2012 / 9:02 pm

Thanks, Linda. It’s been a really fun day! I love the preschool projects that come home with Beckett, they’re so sweet. Plus it’s so cool to see that preschool art hasn’t been cut. πŸ™‚

    Also what a sweet pup!

    • 11/08/2012 / 9:26 pm

Oh, thank you. I realized I probably needed an image on the post, so naturally included my dog… and I’m sure you’re creative since you have a blog going on.

Hey, Kate! Thanks for the visit. Hope you found some good stuff. πŸ™‚

  26. 11/08/2012 / 1:44 pm

Going through this site is lowering my blood pressure. I’ve always wished I had visual-artistic talent, but those weren’t the talent-cards I was dealt. So I try to surround myself with visual art created by those who do have that calling.

    • 11/08/2012 / 9:38 pm

Ha! Good call if you’re not a maker. Be a buyer, or at least an appreciator. Thanks for your awesome comment, and I hope the blood pressure stayed nice and low for the day…

  27. 11/08/2012 / 2:02 pm

I kept thinking I read your blog name wrong… Once I slowed down, it’s so cute! (So is that dog who is sleeping…)

Hope you have a great SITS day!

    • 11/08/2012 / 9:41 pm

I wonder about that- if people read the blog name wrong. But maybe that’s a good thing if it keeps you attention. ? Thanks for visiting!

  28. 11/08/2012 / 2:17 pm

Happy SITS day! That photo of kids’ cool spaces looks amazing. I’m now following with Twitter and Google+ Enjoy being featured on two sites!

Hi Sheila! Thanks so much, and I hope you had fun tooling around…

  30. 11/08/2012 / 4:31 pm

I don’t have an artistic bone in my body, so I am REALLY impressed by your blog! Thanks for sharing your skills and congrats on the attention you are getting today.

    • 11/08/2012 / 9:50 pm

Thank you Jennifer! I’m convinced that everyone is creative in some way, but I’ll just shut my pie hole and accept your compliment!

  31. 11/09/2012 / 5:52 am

Hope you had a lovely SITS Day, Jeanette!

  32. 11/10/2012 / 3:02 pm

I love the concept for your blog, and you have such great ideas! I too believe that creativity is one of the most important things to encourage in children (maybe being raised by an artist has me slightly biased). Love it and looking forward to making use of your ideas!

  33. 11/10/2012 / 3:50 pm

Congrats!!! Way to go! Love all your ideas, projects, links, and humor!

  34. 11/10/2012 / 9:43 pm

What a neat blog! My kids are older now… πŸ™ but your blog is neat and I love your projects!
